About

Our Mission

Our vision is to improve the quality of life for the diversity community affected by IBD, and chronic illnesses that are connected to IBD, through programs of research, education, support and advocacy.

Our Vision

is focused on achieving the following  outcomes:

2.

Engaging policymakers and speaking on behalf of those affected by these debilitating illnesses

Equity is the absence of avoidable, unfair, or remediable differences among groups of people, whether those groups are defined socially, economically, demographically or geographically or by other means of stratification. "Health equity” or “equity in health” implies that ideally everyone should have a fair opportunity to attain their full health potential and that no one should be disadvantaged from achieving this potential.

As COCCI expands its reach, the goal is to:
  • Host information and resource sessions with a partner organization within underserved communities.

  • Provide information on healthcare providers that are compassionate and display quality ethics and integrity

  • Connect patients with opportunities to be included in studies that are being facilitated by pharmaceutical companies and other healthcare initiatives

  • Create opportunities that allow for a better quality of life for minorities affected by these diseases

  • Create collaborative partnerships that directly move the mission forward, and serve our community

We strive to provide the needs of our community to our community. How can we serve you?

Sometimes we are tested, not to show our weaknesses

but to discover our strengths.

We Need Your Support Today!

3.

Expanding opportunities for innovative interventions and more direct services that will enhance quality of life and accessible treatments

Have you ever considered participating in a study with the pharmaceutical that provides your medication? Unfortunately, there is a lot of missing/incorrect data on black/brown patients because of our lack of participation. Would you consider participation?

We use surveys to find out what works for our community and what doesn't. Are you interested in participating? We want to know how your medications and treatments affect you -- for us, surveys are the best way.
